Abstract Marketers want to reach people via mobile surveys, and CLX, a provider of cellphone polling technology, is aiming to help them do that. Thousands of consumers from 15 to 30 years old have joined CLX's opt-in database called MemberMatrix, thereby agreeing to receive questions by text message from service providers and packaged goods marketers. CLX's consumer campaigns have achieved 70% response rates. The program soon may have a business-to-business application.
